Task guide
Undertakings
Record each undertaking a lawyer of the firm gives on a matter, keep it in sight until it is discharged or released, and read the firm's register of them.
An undertaking binds the lawyer who gives it.
Record one on its matter
Record it on the matter's Conveyancing, Undertakings tab: what was promised, by which lawyer on the matter, to whom and by when.
Keep it, or have it released
The giver and the responsible partner are told as it falls due, and every day it is overdue. Record its discharge (the promise kept, and how) or its release (its beneficiary let it go, and why). A matter cannot close while an undertaking on it is open.
The firm's register
Matters, Undertakings is the firm's register of every undertaking on the matters you may open, narrowed by standing, by who gave it and by when it falls due, and exported as a file after you confirm.
