This text describes how Dangana works and is offered as a starting point. The firm operating this deployment should review it with counsel before publishing it as its own policy.
The terms on which people use a firm's Dangana deployment.
The service
Dangana is practice management software installed as one deployment for one law firm. The firm operates the deployment; the vendor supplies the software under a licence granted per deployment. These terms apply to everyone who uses the firm's deployment, whether as a member of staff or as a client using the portal the firm may enable.
Accounts
Staff accounts are created by the firm's administrator. You are responsible for keeping your password and any second factor to yourself, for signing out on shared devices, and for telling the administrator at once if you believe your account has been used by someone else. The firm may suspend or deactivate an account at any time; deactivation keeps the history of what the account did.
Acceptable use
You may use the system only for the firm's lawful business and in keeping with the professional conduct rules that apply to legal practice in Ghana. You must not try to see records you have not been given access to, share credentials, remove or alter audit records, or interfere with the security controls the system applies.
Fees and hosting
The firm pays the vendor a one-time licence fee for the deployment. Hosting, storage, messaging and payment provider costs are the firm's own accounts and are paid by the firm directly to those providers. The vendor charges nothing recurring for the software.
Availability and support
The software is provided as documented. The vendor provides the documented upgrade path and security fixes for the current version line. Hosting uptime, backups the firm has configured and the firm's own operational decisions are the firm's responsibility. Support access is only possible when the firm opens a window for it.
Liability
The software supports professional judgement; it does not replace it. The vendor is not liable for the outcome of any legal matter, for decisions made on the strength of figures or dates the system presents, or for losses arising from hosting outages, from misuse, or from data loss where the firm did not configure or verify its backups. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
Changes
The firm may update these terms for its deployment. The date at the top of this page shows when the text last changed.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Ghana, and the courts of Ghana have jurisdiction over any dispute arising from them.
