Re-checks when a matter changes

See why a new check ran, settle its results, and understand a warning or a hold on work.

A conflict check records the register as it stood when it ran. Changes can therefore require a fresh check. The earlier check and its decision stay on the file.

What starts a re-check

A party added to a working matter is checked. A party merge or a newly added relationship can start checks on the working matters affected. Reopening a matter checks its parties again. Converting an enquiry checks parties not covered by the enquiry's decided check.

The check's Trigger names the change and links its cause. A triggered check with no matches clears itself, with the reason that no matches exceeded the firm's threshold. One with results waits for a person's decision and notifies the responsible partner and conflict deciders.

Work while a check waits

The matter header and opening checklist link Conflict re-check waiting to the check. The Compliance setting While a conflict re-check waits decides whether it warns or also stops new time and disbursements. Documents remain open so the conflict can be worked on.

A matter with lapsed conflict consent.

If the decision is Conflict found, the existing matter hold applies. Deal with every result and record the decision from the check; neither a warning nor a block can be removed by hiding the notice.

The Compliance department queue and Waiting on me also offer checks that need a decision. A system-cleared check does not wait in either queue.
