Sanctions and PEP screening
Record each search of the sanctions and politically exposed person lists for a party, keep the search result as evidence, and resolve a possible match before the party is verified or reviewed.
Before the firm acts for a client, and again at each periodic review, somebody searches the sanctions and PEP lists for them. The party's Screening tab keeps each search.
Record a screening
- Open the party and choose the Screening tab.
- Record screening, then choose the lists searched: UN, OFAC, EU and UK sanctions, Ghana's own list, a PEP database, adverse media, or another list by name.
- Give the day and what was found: No match, Possible match or Confirmed match, with notes on who was compared.
- Attach the page or report the search produced, a PDF, JPEG or PNG. It can also be attached later from the screening's row.

What a screening decides
- Verifying KYC needs a screening no older than the firm's Screening stands for (days), 30 by default, and refuses a confirmed match.
- A periodic review needs a screening made since the review opened, and keeps it with the review.
- A possible match is told to those who verify KYC and puts the party on the KYC worklist until a later screening resolves it.
The KYC tab shows where the party's screening stands: current, out of date, not screened or a match to resolve.
Correcting a screening
Edit corrects a screening. Delete removes one recorded in error; a screening that served a review stays with it and cannot be deleted.
