Word the firm's notices, and keep text messages within budget

Put each notice in the firm's own words on the inbox, email and text message, and set what the firm will spend on text messages each month.

Word a notice the firm's way

Every notice the system sends has its own words. The firm can put any of them in its own, channel by channel.

  1. Open Settings, Notifications, Wording. Every notice is listed with whose words each channel carries.
  2. Open a notice. Each channel it goes by has its own card: the inbox, email and, for the notices that may go by text message, text.
  3. Choose Word it (or Edit), write the title or subject and the wording, and choose Preview to see it filled with sample values; an email is shown as it would arrive.
  4. Save wording. From then on that notice goes out in the firm's words on that channel.

The wording may use the placeholders listed beside it: the notice's own title and words ({title}, {body}), the name of the person it goes to, the firm's name and the day, and for a notice about a matter its number, name and billing client. Anything else is refused, so a notice never goes out with a gap in it. {body} carries what the system would have said, so a firm usually wraps its own greeting and sign-off around it.

Put back returns a channel to the system's wording; the firm's words stay in the audit trail. The email of a security notice, and of a notice whose email the system draws itself, carries a link, a code or a summary, so it is not reworded.

Text messages and what they cost

Text messages cost the firm money for each one sent, so the firm decides how many it will pay for.

  1. Open Settings, Notifications, Email and text.
  2. Text messages a month is how many the firm sends in a calendar month. Text message budget a month is the most it spends, in pesewas; nought sets no money ceiling. Price of a text message segment is what the firm's provider charges for one segment of up to 160 characters.
  3. Once either ceiling is reached, notices go in the app and by email only until the month turns, and the administrators are told once. Deadline and hearing notices always go.

Texts go through Arkesel first and, if Arkesel cannot take one, through Frog. The sender name the firm registered with each provider is set with the providers' credentials under Settings, Integrations. What each provider reports of a text's delivery is kept on the notice's delivery.

A provider's report on a message is not another message: only texts actually sent count against the month.
