Task guide

Request an electronic signature

Send one version of a document to be signed in order, follow each signatory, and receive the signed version and its certificate on the matter.

Signing happens on the firm's own deployment: the document is never handed to an outside signing service.

Which documents may be signed this way

The firm keeps a list of classes of document that may not be signed electronically. Deeds and attested instruments are on it by default, as the Electronic Transactions Act, 2008 (Act 772) leaves them outside. The firm's own lawyer decides the list.

Send a request

  1. Open the document and choose Request signature on the version to be signed.
  2. Add the signatories in the order they sign: parties by their address or phone on the register, colleagues by their account.
  3. Send. Only the first signatory is asked; each next one is asked when the one before has signed.

What a signatory does

The signatory opens a link that belongs to them alone, reads the document, types their name, consents, and signs by drawing on the screen or uploading a scan of their wet signature. They need no account.

Follow it

Documents, Signatures lists every request with each signatory's standing: sent, reminded, opened, signed or declined. Send a reminder from the request; reminders also go out on the firm's schedule until the request expires.

When it completes

The marks are stamped onto the document as a new version of the same document, and a certificate records what each person did, when, and from what address and device.
